The Sega Saturn version of Space Invaders is a shoot 'em up game, developed and published by Taito in 1996. It was released only in Japan. In this game, players protect Mother Earth from multiple aliens descending into the atmosphere.
Much like the SNES version of Space Invaders, the Saturn version is a port of Space Invaders DX, released for Arcade systems (Taito B and F3 Systems) in 1994. And just like the SNES version, it lacks the Parody Mode from the Arcade original. Other gameplay features such as multiple colorizations of 1978 original and the versus mode, remained.
Later, the Saturn version of Space Invaders was bundled with Japanese copies of Puzzle Bobble 2X.
