Piantas are a humanoid species that are the main inhabitants of Isle Delfino, the other being Nokis. They first appear in Super Mario Sunshine. Piantas appear in some of the Mario & Sonic titles, typically as spectators, whereas in the Super Smash Bros. series they only make a few cameo appearances.
A Pianta is recognized by a small palm tree that stems from the top of its head. Several Piantas wear a grass skirt, whether male or female. There are several color varieties of Piantas, such as light blue, yellow, and orange. Female Piantas can be distinguished from male Pinatas by their longer eyelashes, a flower atop their palm tree, and difference in clothing, as they wear a bra along with their grass skirt. "Pianta" is the name for "plant" in Italian.

Both stickers depict a specific Super Mario Sunshine artwork, with the male Pianta sticker depicting a blue one holding a durian while the female Pianta sticker depicts an orange one wearing a light purple dress.
In Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary, both stickers can be applied to any fighter. The male Pianta sticker reduces dizziness time by 94 frames, while the female Pianta sticker increases the power of energy-based attacks by 15 points.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]
A group of Piantas appear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the form of a Novice-class support spirit. When used, the fighter starts the battle with a Banana Gun. The spirit battle takes place on the Delfino Plaza stage and features multiple variously-colored Kirbys meant to simulate Piantas. The spirit can be obtained by winning the battle on the Spirit Board or by clearing the challenge of purchasing an item during a Sunday sale in the Vault Shop.
