Monty Moles are mole enemies from the Mario franchise, where they first appear in Super Mario World. Their only Sega-related appearance is in the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, as obstacles briefly encountered in Dream Equestrian. They are mostly based on their appearance from Mario Kart Wii, as the Dream Event takes place in Moo Moo Meadows, they use a similar model, and their sound clips are reused from said game.

In Dream Equestrian, there are only three Monty Moles, which are encountered one after the other, right before the portion where Kamek starts to unleash flaming hay bales. Each Monty Mole digs forward in a straight line and then jumps out, attempting to hit the group, before returning into their hole, similar to their behavior throughout the Mario Kart series. Upon returning into its hole, the Monty Mole stops following the group. If the group hits a Monty Mole, they lose a Yoshi Egg.
