Mappy is an Action game, originally developed and published by Namco for Arcade machines in 1983. In this game, players control a policeman-mouse named Mappy to recover stolen goods from a museum by Nyamco and his gang.
A Sega Game Gear port of the game developed by Nova was released in 1991 exclusively in Japan. It also included a skyscraper and versus modes, of which the Taisen Cable is required to link between the systems. Despite the menu being in Japanese, the game is completely playable for non-Japanese readers.
A homage to the original Arcade game is referenced in 404 Game Re:set, alongside a playable moe anthropomorphism of the game itself. The character Mappy also appears as a collectible trophy.
